Healthcare Financial Management Association Announces Seminar Series in Beijing and Shanghai
US Healthcare Professional Conduct Financial Management Training in China


BEIJING, PR China. – March 1, 2005–
The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), a 35,000 member organization dedicated to training and education of healthcare financial management professionals in the United States, announced today their plans to conduct two financial management training seminars in the People's Republic of China.

Co-sponsored by the Ministry of Health, the Chinese Health Economics Association, the Beijing Union Medical & Pharmaceutical Group and the Johnson & Johnson Company, the seminars will be held in Beijing on March 21, 2005 and in Shanghai on March 23, 2005. The coordinator for the events will be the ChinaCare Group, a Beijing-based international healthcare consulting firm.

The speakers for the event will be Richard Clarke, President of HFMA, and David Wood, President of the ChinaCare Group. The seminars will cover topics of interest to hospital financial managers including operational budgeting, capital budgeting, structure and organization of financial operations and strategic planning for finance. Over 400 health professionals from hospitals in China are expected to attend.

HFMA President and CEO Richard Clarke says, "HFMA is embarking on this seminar series with the expectation of sharing the skills and expertise of its hospital financial members with their colleagues in China. We hope that this will lead to long-term collegial relationships between American and Chinese hospitals."
