The ChinaCare Group, the only international healthcare consulting firm in mainland China, announced today the appointment of its senior partner, David Wood, as Strategic Advisor to the Board of Directors of New Century International Children’s Hospital in Beijing. In this role, Mr. Wood will assist the Board of Directors in their plans to develop a network of international children’s hospitals in mainland China.

Mr. Wood is the former president and chief executive officer of United Family Hospitals, the first joint-venture hospitals in China. In addition, Mr. Wood has served in executive level positions in hospitals and research centers internationally and in the United States. He is the author of numerous articles in the field of international hospital management and is a frequent speaker at international healthcare conferences.

New Century International Children’s Hospital is a private, for-profit, children’s hospital located on the campus of the Beijing Children’s Hospital in Beijing. Designed by the American architectural firm of Perkins & Will, the hospital features 104 private rooms in a state-of-the-art facility. The hospital is a public-private partnership with the Beijing Children’s Hospital.
